The Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (BioSys) Lab, launched by Prof. Patrick E. Meyer, is a research team affiliated to the Phytosystems Group at the Université de Liège (ULg, Belgium).

The unit develops computational and statistical tools in order to uncover large-scale circuitry of biological cells from genomics data. Our long-term goal is to predict the right triggers in bacteria, algae and plants to yield improved biofuels, food sources, and air-, oceans- and soils- depollution. This can be done by inferring networks of genes, proteins and metabolites out of binding motifs, protein interactions and Next Gen Sequencing (NGS) data, such as expression data and ChIP.

The lab also contributes to open-source software, packages and web platforms allowing to infer, analyze and validate new networks.
